VF’s Jeanswear separate entity Kontoor Brands expected in the first half of 2019
Laurel Krueger joins VF Corp as Vice President, General Counsel of Kontoor Brands
The separation of VF’s Jeanswear organization is expected to be completed in the first half of 2019, subject to final approval by the company’s Board of Directors, customary regulatory approvals and tax and legal considerations. The new company will comprise the Wrangler®, Lee® and Rock & Republic® brands, and the VF Outlet business.
“This is an exciting next step in our work to establish our Jeanswear organization as an independent, publicly traded company. Kontoor Brands – a creative variation of the word ‘contour’ – is a compelling company name that will preserve each brand’s unique identity while also providing the opportunity to evolve the company in the years ahead,” said Steve Rendle, VF’s Chairman, President and CEO.
VF Corp. has taken Laurel Krueger on board as vice president, general counsel of Kontoor Brands Inc., the autonomous, publicly traded company that will result from the previously announced separation of VF’s Jeanswear organization.
The prime responsibilities that Laurel would handle at Kontoor Brands’ are the legal function, including compliance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. With over 20 years experience Laurel is a veteran legal executive having good exposure in the retail industry. Kontoor would now be growing its business in the denim and apparel categories.
As per Steve Rendle, Laurel, is a great addition to the strong bench of leadership that has been appointed to look after Kontoor Brands as a thriving independent organization.News
