National Textile University (NTU) inaugurated three computer labs for digital pattern, textile, and apparel design, including 50 TUKAcad stations for digital pattern-making and several TUKA3D stations for virtual sample-making. The inauguration and ribbon cutting ceremony was performed by Tukatech’s Head Coach and Founder, Ram Sareen, and NTU’s Rector, Dr. Tanveer Hussain.

One of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Pakistan, NTU began as an institute focused on spinning, weaving, and processing of textiles, but since it was upgraded to a technical and managerial university in 2002, programs have been expanded to equip students with knowledge of fashion design, apparel merchandising, and garment manufacturing. The goal of the shift in recent years toward “outcome-based” teaching and skill enhancement has been to provide the garment industry with students who have enough hands-on experience to add value to their employers from day one.

TUKATECH systems are now running at 70% of the apparel companies in Pakistan.
