Pakistan Govt to offer support to recuperate textile sector

The textile sector in Pakistan has an awe-inspiring impact on the economy, contributing 57% to the country’s exports. In today’s highly competitive global environment, the textile sector needs to upgrade its supply chain, improve productivity, and maximize value-addition to be able to survive.

Federal Secretary Textile Division gave presentation to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Textile Sector of Pakistan. The Secretary, Textile Division made a comprehensive presentation highlighting the importance of textiles value chain in national economy, international scenario, performance of textiles sector, facilitation extended by the government to the textiles sector, projects, structural issues and impediments in execution of projects. Various issues relating to Lahore Garments City, Karachi Garments City and Pakistan Textile City Limited were also highlighted. 

Prime Minister, Imran Khan has assured that the government will provide all its support to rehabilitate the textile sector. The PM stressed on giving special attention to skill development in view the demands of national and international markets, which shall create more job opportunities for the youth.
