Hong Kong company Hop Lun, takes Ethiopia’s Bahir Dar Industry Park

Hong Kong-based textile and garment company Hop Lun, is going to take over the recently built Ethiopia’s Bahir Dar Industry Park found in Amhara region.

The company’s officials are through with the transfer deal with Ethiopia’s Industrial Park Development Corporation. The Hong Kong company is known for one of its brands, Premark. It will take between 3 to 18 months Hop Lun, which has all the eight sheds in the Bahir Dar Industrial Park, to start training employees and move into production of clothes. Once fully operational, the company shall provide jobs to 6,000 people.

Bahir Dar city administration is also looking at providing additional 2,000 hectares of land for the expansion of Bahir Dar Industrial Park.
