Epic Group putting its first garmenting unit in India with USD 20 million
With garment manufacturing facilities in Bangladesh, Vietnam, Ethiopia and Jordan, Hong Kong based Epic Group, has now turned its focus on India. The Group would set up its first Greenfield manufacturing unit with 40 sewing lines in Ranchi in the state of Jharkhand with an investment o USD 20 million. The initial plan is to produce 15 million units of garments.
As per Chairman and Group CEO Ranjan Mahtani, the investment will be done in two years which includes-setting up the manufacturing facility and training the workforce. The Ranchi garment unit will be comparable to the smallest plant of the company in Bangladesh which is the biggest base for the Epic Group. Once the targets are achieved as per the plan, then the company shall increase the scale of its Ranchi unit and then move to other parts of the country.
Currently, the company ships its merchandise to 47 countries; seventy percent of the company’s revenue comes from the US market while the remaining comes from markets in Europe, Japan, China, et.al. Catering to clients like Walmart, JC Penney, Kohl’s, Levi’s, Uniqlo, H&M, Tesco, Sainsbury’s to mention a few, Epic has specially dedicated teams for each of its clients providing design, product development and seamless coordination of the entire production process. Epic Designers Limited is the corporate Head Quarters of the Epic Group in Hong Kong.
Incorporated in 1971, Epic Group is one of the largest manufacturers in the global garment industry. It produces around 90 million garments per annum and has 16 factories in Bangladesh, Vietnam, Jordan and Ethiopia, and design offices in Hong Kong and the United States.India News Region
