Chinese delegation to visit Bangladesh to explore joint venture options

A delegation of Chinese Manufacturer’s Association (CMA) based in Hong Kong will visit Bangladesh from 22nd to 26th May for potential investment. Delegation comprises of businesses from many sectors including joint venture interests in Garments and Textiles manufacturing. A business match making session has been arranged on 25th May Saturday where interested BGMEA members can join.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s exports to the US has increased by 10%; in value around $1.08 billion in the first two months of 2019. The export is likely to grow drastically, if the 25% duty on Chinese imports comes into effect. Due to trade war between the US and China, Bangladesh has become beneficiary.

According to BGMEA (Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association), the US retailers would surely consider Bangladesh, however, it shall depend on price point negotiations with the retailers.
